These fabulous new tasks are intended to motivate and challenge students who have some programming experience and ability. The games, graded for difficulty and titled Bounce, Dodge, Snake, Jump, Tic-Tac-Toe, Race, Invaders and Reversi, generally have 4 sections: <\/p>\n
1. The initial step by step game setup with lots of direction and code snippets;<\/p>\n
2. The identification of problems and hints, then guidelines, demonstrating how to solve the issues;<\/p>\n
3. Help with additional functionality such as start screens, timers, lives remaining, game over displays and other bells and whistles that students might like to include;<\/p>\n
4. Suggestions about how the games might be further developed.<\/p>\n
Students may work in a free coding website or your own installation. Full solutions are offered for the first 3 sections then the last is completely open ended; students can take any of these games as far as they like.<\/p>\n
